Three things to ask your staff to deliver on:
1. Acknowledge every prospect/customer/donor even if you can’t help them right away. Even if it’s just eye contact, face expression or head nod.
2. Say something.
This forces the staff to be creative.
Give them the freedom to go out of their way to bring joy to those who choose to use you.
I once heard a story about a woman who asked for milk for her infant at a sports stadium food bar. The young man asked what seat the lady was at. He then ran outside of the stadium to a convince store and purchased the milk, warmed it up and brought it to the mom.
The women was so impressed that she decided to inspire him by sending a letter to the stadiums leadership.
Why not lead the way in your market. It doesn’t cost anything.
