Today I read something that jumped out at me. *“Be dressed for service and well prepared as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks.”
It goes on to say, “there will be special favor for those who are ready and waiting for his return,” in two places.
I have learned that when the Bible states something twice, close together, I should listen, and when the words are in red, I should pay close attention. These words are in red. That means that Jesus was the one who spoke them.
This is a very challenging statement to evaluate our motives and actions. I take “dressed for service’ and “well prepared” to mean we should know God’s word well and live our life by it with the motive of making Him smile, knowing He will be coming back to receive us who have placed our faith in Him.
The Bible says that **“…if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
It is as simple as that. You become His child that He will be coming back for. So get dressed for service and well prepared for that day!
