I have to admit, I had a lot of fear of the unknown growing up. I asked questions like, “Why was I born? Why wasn’t I born into a wealthy family? Why am I so skinny that people can see the ribs in my chest?”

And the most important question I asked was, “What is life about?” We have no choice in being born. We also have no choice in when we die. If you can’t relate to these questions, then disregard what I’m saying. But if you can relate, let me share with you.

You are created with a specific purpose! Unfortunately, I don’t know what that is, but I can point you to the One who will tell you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV)

God also said, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 NIV)

The insight is that God said this, and God can’t lie. Because if He did, that would mean He couldn’t be God because the title “God” itself means to be perfect.

So, if you seek and ask with authenticity, He will answer, or you can dismiss both of us as liars.

P.S. I once cursed God out; yes, the F-word was a part of it. I couldn’t get over the fact that God would let this much pain into the world. But what I didn’t realize at the time was that He didn’t want to create robots that love Him because they are forced to. That would not be love but control. Love is offering someone
a choice.
